Green Iguanas are not native to Florida and are considered invasive species due to their impacts to native wildlife.
The Green Iguana is native to South & Central America, Mexico, and some islands of the Caribbean but, once again, because of the popularity of the iguana in the pet trade, they have become invasive in South Florida, Hawaii, Texas, and Puerto Rico.
Iguanas are a big problem in Florida as they cause damage to commercial and residential landscape vegetation. Most property owners consider these reptiles as a nuisance. These animals are mostly attracted to plants with flowers, foliage, or any kind of vegetables, and they destroy them.
HOW THEY GOT HERE
Florida's first green Iguanas likely hitched a ride on Cuban cargo ships transporting goods to Florida. Soon after their arrival, the herbivorous lizards reproduced rapidly and established themselves throughout South and Central Florida.
CAN YOU EAT AND WHAT DOES IGUANA TASTE LIKE
Iguanas are referred to as the "chicken of the trees," by iguana eaters, because they are said to taste " like chicken ". Many people enjoy the meat from iguanas because of the high levels of protein it provides. In fact, iguana is a pretty lean meat and contains more protein than chicken.
It's a common delicacy in Mexico, Central and South America — and in trendy U.S. restaurants that cater to anyone craving a lizard entree. Iguana gourmets in the U.S. are sometimes immigrants from other countries looking for a taste of home.
WHY DO PEOPLE HUNT IGUANAS
They are invasive and they cause damage to seawalls, sidewalks, landscape foliage and can dig lengthy tunnels causing millions in damages to residents and businesses. Also, they prey on the vulnerbale native Burrowing owls by eating their eggs and drive them out of their homes. Non-native iguanas are multiplying so rapidly in South Florida that a state wildlife agency is now encouraging people to kill them.
Book your ultimate hunt adventure! Enjoy and have fun while helping to remove South Florida invasive species.

CLIENTS TESTIMONIALS:
We had an amazing day with Captain Justin! He’s incredibly knowledgeable about iguana hunting and brings great energy. You can tell right away he’s someone you enjoy being around. I highly recommend signing up for the 6-hour tour, especially since it includes his delicious home-cooked, waterside lunch. Captain Justin knows exactly where the iguanas hang out and how to hunt them safely and responsibly without disrupting neighborhoods, homes, or parks. What really stood out is that he genuinely cares about protecting burrowing owls and combating the invasive species that are harming South Florida’s ecosystem. An awesome experience all around!

Justin (Hawkeye) was a great guide and was definitely the one you want if bagging a lot of iguanas is your goal. We started late due to some technical troubles and the weather was cold and overcast which is exactly the opposite of what is desired for a successful iguana hunt. But Hawkeye consistently put us on the iguanas at every turn and continued to refill our pellet guns to keep us ready for action. At the end of the day we had a successful hunt. I highly recommend him as a guide!!

Absolutely a great trip... Justin ensured safety on the boat, coached for best results, and ensured to take plenty of photos so we didn't have to worry about it... We ran into a Florida Wildlife Officer while on the water and Justin had all required items in order w no issues and we continued to hunt! This trip w Justin is worth it! We came away w 18 confirmed kills, with most of them successfully collect.

Captain Justin deserves his moniker „Captain Hawk Eyes“ because he can spot those things from like a mile away. He is an awesome and patient guide that will help you find all iguanas in every nook and cranny. Green iguana are an invasive species to Florida. They destroy the landscape and man made structure alike and they prey on native wildlife like the burrowing owl. Florida wildlife is slowly adapting. Gators are starting to recognise them as prey, the hawks go after little iguanas and the couple dozen Florida Panthers and bobcats that exist are raiding their nests. Evenso these resilient reptiles are so good at surviving and thriving that some of them manage to grow up to 7 feet long. That’s why it needs hunters guided by awesome guys like him to take care of business.

I go on several fishing and hunting charters a year. This one has me counting the days until we go again. The cast and blast is a perfect split day balance without getting burned out on one species. Justin is an excellent guide with great personality and patience (I’ve found that rare with most captains). Puts us on the game and wife had a great time!

Amazing cast and blast day! Captain Justin is dedicated to getting you on fish and iguanas. We had a great day filled with five different species of fish and plenty of iguanas (14). We will definitely book another trip in the future! I highly recommend the homemade shore lunch. We had lemongrass chicken and it was great! Can’t say enough good things about this experience!

Captain Justin was awesome. Caught 9 different fish species with him during our fishing part of the trip. He knew exactly where to cast, what to cast, and how to work the fishing pole. The hunt part was amazing as well. Got 12 Iguanas, one being around 41 inches. Justin has the best eyes when it comes to spotting them. He’d point one out while going full speed in the boat. it would take us 10-15 second to spot it. If you want to do an iguana hunt in the Fort Lauderdale area, book Justin.

Incredible Experience! Before I even describe the trip, let me start by highlighting that Justin reached out a few weeks before to get a sense of us and our expectations, along with tips on what to bring and expect. A few days before the trip, he provided us with weather updates and possible alternatives just in case the weather did not cooperate, which was huge given we were traveling from out of town. When we arrived, all the equipment was provided and provided us with all the instructions needed. We even got a little shooting practice to get our confidence up. The rest of the day was a blast, he knew all the best places to look, and we bagged 12 iguanas. Lastly, my son is 12 and familiar with a rifle but has yet to become an expert... Justin was great with helping and talking him through shooting off a boat and this environment; sometimes, you don't have the best patience, so his instruction was priceless. It was a great guide and overall experience, and I highly recommend it. We will be booking him for more next time we are back down.

We had a cold front come in and didn’t get to peacock bass fish but justin saw a window to still make our iguana hunt happen. He is really knowledgeable and put us in the right spots. With only a 3 hour window we were able to put 19 in the boat and saw a bunch more.We are already planning a return trip and wouldn’t consider anyone other than Justin.Cant wait to return….

Deliciously marinated with fresh minced garlic, shallots, lemongrass, hot chilli oil paste, and variety of spices. Dip in salt and pepper with fresh lime juice sauce, crack open a bottle of beer and enjoy. Iguana might be your new favorite dish on the menu🦎🔥😋
